Recent research provides another compelling reason to offer vaccination services. A study published on 14 July by GPhC members in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde found that pharmacies providing vaccinations were significantly more likely to achieve positive inspection outcomes.
Just 9.1% of vaccination providers failed to meet all inspection standards, compared with 19.6% of pharmacies that did not offer vaccinations.
The study identified three factors associated with better-performing pharmacies:
* Strong governance and organisational oversight
* Suitable premises
* Well-trained, competent staff
